More Than These - Sermon

Mar 22, 2026    Paul Johnson

If you’ve ever looked at your life and thought, “This isn’t what I hoped it would be,” you’re not alone. Sometimes, the things you think will satisfy you don’t: the career move that was supposed to secure your future, the relationship you thought would finally make you feel whole, the pace, the success, the control, things that promised better, all somehow leave you wanting more.

Near the end of His life, Jesus asked one of His closest followers a deeply personal question to bring clarity:

“Do you love Me more than these?”

Over the next few weeks, we’ll take inventory of our lives as we walk through the final days of Jesus’ life and the moments that followed Easter. What we will discover is that Jesus consistently meets people right there: in disappointment, a mistake or failure, and in the gap between what we expected and what actually happened.

His question is not meant to bring guilt.

It’s a question to help us filter our lives to find something better.

If life hasn’t always turned out the way you hoped, join us this Sunday.
